Ron Chhinzer: Dedicated Community Leader and Advocate for Canada
Ron Chhinzer, a committed public servant and seasoned law enforcement professional, is a passionate advocate for public safety, economic growth, and affordable opportunities for all Canadians. A resident of Oakville for over 17 years, Ron has strong roots in the community. His wife was raised here, and their children were born and continue to thrive in Oakville’s sought after environment. He is driven by a desire to re-establish public safety and to strengthen Canada’s identity and values.
A Distinguished Career in Law Enforcement
Ron’s career in law enforcement began in 2003 with Peel Regional Police, where he worked as a civilian in Intelligence. In 2006, he became a sworn constable with the Toronto Police Service. Over the next two decades, he advanced to become a respected investigator and leader, specializing in organized crime and intelligence work. His leadership roles included spearheading initiatives like the Integrated Gang Prevention Task Force and Project #Engage416 - projects and programs designed to tackle gang violence, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation by combining education, prevention, intervention, and suppression.
Ron took on the challenge of not just managing, but also writing, executing, and concluding federal and provincial grants that delivered meaningful results. These projects reached over 1,600 community members and successfully supported and motivated more than 1,000 at-risk youth to leave gangs and build better futures. Ron’s work also included organizing 30 Gang Prevention Town Halls and collaborating with over 75 agencies to address safety concerns in some of Toronto’s most vulnerable neighbourhoods.
Recognized internationally as a gang prevention expert and thought leader, Ron has been a sought-after speaker on public safety, leadership, and motivation, inspiring audiences around the world with his insights and experience.
